I have several
chronic illnesses; Diabetes, Heart-mitral valve prolapse, Dercums
Disease, 3 Herniated Discs,
Congenital Hip Dysplasia, Liver (fatty liver disease), Lungs, Hashimoto's
Thyroid Disease, Arthritis, Carpal Tunnel, High Blood Pressure, and lastly (but
I assure you never the least according to my husband) Hormonal Imbalance.
Be sure to follow my
blog
as I work my way through my journey, you can even leave comments and
encouragement. Since 05/2008 I have seen vast improvement so
far.
I have a wonderful
friend who encouraged me to use the essential oils. She had seen great
things in her own health and that of her family. That, however, was not
enough to sway me. Why? Because to be able to purchase the essential
oils at a wholesale price you have to join the wholesale part of the company, an
initial buy in of $40-$150.
That wasn't so bad, I
can understand the concept of wholesale clubs (I have a Sam's and Costco card).
What I didn't like was the title Multi-Level Marketing (MLM). It
reminded me of my days as a young wife when my husband and I were being harassed
by my sister-in-law to join a cleaning supply company. Urgh! I never
want to be that type of person! Still, I wanted to get better, as I was
watching my friend get better. I thought I just better keep watching her.
Two years later I had
seen enough. She was no longer taking days at a time off work for
Allergies, Respiratory issues, Cold & Flu,, and Hormonal Imbalances.
She even said the essential oils had cured her Glaucoma! I told her I
would try it. Nothing fancy, I said, just
give me the basic $40
package. (What a stubborn mule I am, LOL!)
I signed up on May
30th 2008. Days later was the Young Living annual convention held in Salt
Lake City, UT. She had told me how much I'd l learn from it all, how much
education about the products I will receive by coming. I knew I had to
attend, mostly to check it out for myself to see if it was real. It
was.
I actually went to the YL farm in Mona, UT and walked among the
lavender they harvest to put into the bottles. I saw the distillery (shown
in the video) and saw the quality control of these products. I was
sold. Please read the page "Let's
Get Started" to visit my
personal testimonials (with only 15 months in the company) to see what I learned
in those few months.
From June 8th, 2008
when I returned from that first convention, I began using the oils, and telling
others about them. Not in the fanatical pushy way my ex-sister-in-law had
done. Just sharing the stories of how they had worked for me. How
can I not? If someone is feeling pain (trust me I KNOW pain), and I have a
bottle of essential oil in my purse that works for me (in 42 seconds on most of
my pain), how can I NOT share it with them?
Let's break this down
into some commonly asked questions about the business part of Young Living.
Q) Is this a
pyramid scheme?
A) I've been in
this company (thus far) since 05.30.08 and I have never seen anything scheming
about it. This is not a typical MLM company at all. The
main difference I have witnessed, is the product. Many MLM companies
focus on the "business" end of things and getting people
under you.
While that is
important with any business (a customer base), the primary concern of this
company is to help people find their inner wellness and positive health.
Q) Home much
money can I make?
A) Please don't
think I am going to tell you that for part time work you can make $5000 per
month. Maybe you can, maybe you can't. Face it, people work for
their money, and in any business you will too. Some months I work 16
minutes, and other months (like building this website) I work 12 hour days in
a row for my YL business. I do earn a check, however. In this day
and time ANY check is something.
Q) How much
money do you make?
A) I have no
problem sharing that with you. Let me first explain this.
I find it
difficult to sell one bottle of oil at a time due to my work schedule (yes, I
have other jobs), so if the customer needs only that, I refer them to my Young
Living Essential Oils hosted webpage (I pay $10.50 per month for this).
Here
is that link.
There they can order what they want, read all about it, and pay via the
secured site. YL takes care of everything for me, and as I referred that
customer I get a commission (just like at a clothing or furniture
store). They include that in my monthly check.
If the client
wants to learn a bit more about the oils, or maybe just wants to dabble in
them, then I suggest the $40 kit. I make no commission on this at all,
but will make a slight commission on anything they purchase from the company
AT WHOLESALE from that point onward.
If the client
wants to really learn about the oils, by taking free on-line classes
for example, then I suggest one of the larger kits. My personal favorite
is the Start Living with Everyday Oils kit. You get everything that is
included in the $40 Start Living kit, AND 9 additional essential oils at a
greatly reduced cost. When someone signs up for that kit (Start
Living with Everyday Oils) I know they are
getting a great "kick start" kit for both business and personal
healing. I get a $25 bonus for this, in addition to commission on all
future purchases by this person.
Look
the kit over here.
So, to answer
the question my first check (July of 2008) was for $30. From August 2008
onward it has varied from $250 - $1300. So, I am not going to tell you
"you'll make tens of thousands of dollars for almost no work."
I will tell you I was able to make my car payments, house payments, utilities
payments and occasionally a night on the town with this additional
supplemental income for our family, each check paid at least one bill for me,
usually more. As I grow to learn more about how to
structure my business, I can see where I might have put myself in a better
position had I known how. Now I do, and now I can help you too!
